February 24-25, 2012
Cincinnati, OH
We would like to share with you some information about an amazing opportunity for your Middle Schooler! For the last several years, the SMBC Youth Ministry has taken a group of 7th and 8th graders to the CIY Believe Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. Because of how organized it is, how much our students love it, and how impressed our adults are with it, we would like to open the opportunity to include 6th Graders as well!
Believe is the ministry of Christ In Youth (CIY) that specializes in Jr. High programming. They are very intentional about reaching Middle Schoolers for Christ…on THEIR level! Believe uses tactile and interactive experience stations, structured free time, and intentional small group times within the group to captivate students and provide an engaging learning experience. Believe leads students in worship that will bring them to moments of crazy energy and contemplation before God. Throughout the event, they use God’s Word, inspiring stories, and community encounters that will lead to intentional conversations and lots of FUN!
We hope that you will consider this opportunity for you students. If you are a parent of a sixth grader wondering about sending them on a youth trip and have questions beyond what we have explained in this letter, please do not hesitate to call Jeremy Colliver (896-8882). He would love to talk to you.
2012 Theme: The Word Tou: One of the most important things we can do is to point students to God’s Word. The 2012 Believe Conference is going to take a full weekend to point kids to the awesome power of God’s Word. Students will be taken on an epic journey discovering the very places where Moses heard from God or where Jesus taught the five thousand. Ultimately, students will be challenged to respond to the Word of God and begin hiding it in their hearts.
